Former GCSO captain dies after fight outside Greenville restaurant police say

GREENVILLE, S.C. —There will be no charges in the death of a retired deputy killed when he fell and hit his head during an altercation, Greenville police said in a release Monday.

The release said: “The Greenville Police Department has completed the Brick Street Café death investigation involving Paul E. Candler. It has been determined that no charges will be filed in regards to this case.
